About this blog:: By the age of 26, years of obesity had already begun to catch up to me. As the health issues mounted, I decided that a RNY Gastric Bypass was right for me. I enlisted the help of the world-class team at Duke Weight Loss Surgery Center, in Durham, NC. I lost the weight. From an all-time high of 297 pounds, I have shed 135 pounds to 162 pounds in less then a year and have been maintaining at that level ever since. The surgery itself was just one small chapter in the story of the constant battle. I created this blog to shed light on the rest.
